My mate has finally decided to part with the final lot of ND alternators that he's been keeping for future projects, but no longer thinks he'll use them. I think he's got about 10 if anyone is interested. They are new and £70 free post to UK.

Cheers
Matt

I'd buy one but need over 40A and all the little Nippon Denso ones that keep coming up for sale are only 40, don't suppose he has any higher rated?

Here's a bit more info. The one pictured below is a 45A one but the 40A ones are almost the same apart from the charging lug comes out of the side, and the 2 pin plug is different. I'll be seeing my mate in the next few days, and I'll grab a pic of the 40A ones.

Brand new N D alternators, 40Amp, V pulley, just under 100mm Dia.

EDIT: weight approx 2.5KG

6mains will be getting on for 50A at least no? I would guess the 60A alts put out 80odd Amp above 4krpm would be bettersuited i think

I've had one of these on for several years and been very pleased with it.Always manages to keep the batt.charged.Might be worth saying you need to do the all thread rod thing to support the lug on the water pump, otherwise it will break with one of these hung off it.

Jesus just seen on eGay you can get 130W bulbs!!! Would surely melt the lamps though, so will stick with 100W or below, so should just about be ok with one of these alternators...

Will weigh it up over next day or 2.

Here's a pic, they are the same as the ones before. It may be possible to get hold of the plug to go with these too, to save to hassle of sourcing elswhere.

My mate has managed to source some plugs for these they are £13 posted or £10 with an alternator.

I picked one up today, and they look like they should make for a nice tidy install.

Are the plugs £10 if we got the alternator previously from you, or is that too cheeky?

Ive asked but its only £10 for plugs bought with the alternator as they are expensive to buy in and he wouldn't make anything on them, what with postage, packaging etc.

He only really got them in as I convinced him too, as people were struggling to find them.

To be honest I know £13 sounds alot for a plug, but when there are ones on here selling for £10 that require soldering wires together, for the sake of £3 more it would make for a much neater install. *wink*

Cheers

The main lug needs filing back to bring the pulleys inline and the adjustable bracket needs extending, and a shorter belt if you want to bring the alternator but that abouts it right close up to the block, but thats about it.

My mate has access to a waterjet cutter and I did mention about making some brackets too, but I haven't got round to drawing one up yet.
