Very wet south wales

My advice to anyone thinking of doing this manually and on ur own ..... Dont because lifting an engine onto a wheeled seat the onto the worktop isnt the best of ideas lol especially when not moving the cylinder head incase of crushing your hand. Note to self get an engine lift nxt time.

The boring bloke who runs this place.

Berkshire

I can't imagine doing it without an engine crane, and I have a removable front. You're mad.

they are not the lightest thing and not many places to get a grip that don't have oil/grease all over.

Never used a crane yet. Bit of knack and a spare kid or two helps.

King Gaycharger, butt plug dealer, Sheldon Cooper and a BAC but generally a niceish fella if you dont mind a northerner

Rotherham, South Yorkshire

Me and John lifted the engine out of the van by hand once. Was easy enough with it up on a jack and the head off.

is that a 998 engine; they are tons lighter than a 1275 engine. still not advisable to do it on your own mind i've only ever done it once without a crane and 2 friends and it was hell.

Ummm they're pretty much the same weight afaik.
If anything, a 998 will be heavier as there is more cast iron in the block cos the holes are smaller...

Metric is for people who can't do fractions.

well either my 998 is missing its internals then as my 1293 is a bitch to move around the garage; 998 piece of piss. supermotolee n i were confused to about this as we expected it to be the same weight but when lifting it on the truck we almost threw it in expecting it to weight a ton.
