Hi everyone :).

Although I don't currently own a Mini, I still have a lot of heart for them and its good to see so much enthusiasm on here :). My first ever car was a Mini back in 1991 and I've owned quite a few over the years including a 1960 Mini Minor and a 1275 GT. (How I wished I could turn back the clock and have those two back again!!). My first crash was also in a Mini! I wrote off an Allegro Estate after hitting it at about 60 mph. The Mini survived though (just), even though my friend who owned it wasn't too pleased as it was only 2 months old and he had only just had it back from the repairers after reversing into a post himself!

I have happy memories of doing the first ever Mini World magazine London to Brighton Run back in the early 90's. Meeting John Cooper on the seafront really made my day! I also went to their first Action Day at Castle Coombe, although sadly I couldn't risk going on track due to my radiator developing a bad leak on the way there.I still have my first Mini World magazines too and they have survived a few house moves!

Over the years I've done many shows including Stanford Hall & Himley and it was a fantastic scene to be a part of. Mostly though I have always enjoyed the racing side of Minis. Last year I went behind the scenes at the Mini Miglia/ Seven race day at Donington and was honoured to meet the legend Peter Baldwin. My passion for motorsport and fast Rovers also lead me to compete for 4 years between 2007-10 inc and also co-ordinated a championship for 12 months. It was one of the most exciting periods of my life, the most surreal moment being invited on motorsport celebrity Gareth Jones karting team when I stood in for Ted Kravitz in the Johnny Herbert karting challenge. Racing alongside Mr. Herbert himself felt unreal!

Sadly, I had to hang up my race overalls and involvement because of health problems, and I really miss my adrenalin fix! Although I've had to hang up the car keys for now, I hope you won't won't me joining you here. I still have 10W/40 in my veins and reading and learning from you guys would be so cool!:)
