Hi Guys,

Just a quick one, how many engine stabilisers do you have?

At the mo I've got one really heavy duty beast on the top right of the engine with a mount welded to the bulk head. Wondering if I need another at the bottom on the left where the original ones were to get it through the Mot.

2 at the top and 3 at the bottom.

Have an internal shift so needs to be nice and steady or it will jump out of gear under acceleration/lift off the throttle.

Betwix Harrogate and York

Generally just two at the top. One in the standard position, one one the thermostat or waterpump.

1 top in the std position, 3 underneath (std one going forward and 2 going back) All rose jointed and on solid engine mounts. Nothing should move far!

Sounds like i need an extra one on the internal linkage.

So far i have a solid one in the standard place, DSN thermostat one and a solid front one. Yet to drive it.

what ever you run... use the one peice rubber MPI steady bushes, they are really good! minispares do an uprated one which is what I use and they are bomb proof.

I run the std top one and an avon bar/moss one that bolts to the waterpump, on the gearbox I use te minispares ones that go from the back of the gearbox to the sub frame.

I also use the MPI bushes on the lower steadys, you have to drill them out to fit though... taking care not to get the steel centre peice hot and cook the rubber.
