Hi guys,
After following your advice I decided to machine my own pulley, so found a machine shop that could do it for sensible money but this happened *angry*
There was a small drill hole from balancing on the pulley do you guys think its usable? Does it need balancing? It's been centered and cut with precision.
Thanks John

I wouldn't use that, and certainly not with Megasquirt.

Get a pulley with the thick balancing ring and rubber damping layer, and get teeth machined in to one of those instead.

I would say it would work as long as the sensor is away from the hole.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

Just make sure the sensor is on the on bound end. Surely machining its depth down flush wouldn't effect anything anyway if you wanted to do that.

Think how thin a trigger sensor is, 5mm or so, you've easily got that on the in-bound end of that pulley. I wouldn't worry about it *happy* Could always try chemical metal on it for peace of mind? not sure I'd bother in case it came loose at high RPM's mind ha.

Thanks for the answers guys TM comes up trumps again, test fit the sensor and looks like it will work fine.

i would use it but ensure its getting proper sync

if your using megajolt, i found that doesn't seem to care much aslong as there is a distinct missing tooth

Yes i moved to the darkside *happy*

mine was also cracked, so threw it away, not worth the risk at 7-8rpm

It is not cracked, that's a scratch that looks like its cracked at the photo.

Could I ask why you had to machine your own and would it be for a similar issue to what I'm having.
Please see

We've been stumped on this issue for a while now and am desperate to find a solution.

It was easier and cost effective for me to machine my own pulley plus machining my own means everything fits.
