I took 4.5KG per side off by fitting KAD cast alu rear arms, superfin drums and S.C. alu hubs.

I have a question, for people that have experience with both set-ups, which do you prefer, the extra weight with the doughnuts or coilys with a rear beam?

I used to keep my sub box and trolly jack in the boot so the rear had a little more weight, back when i actually used to drive my mini i always felt it was too light at the rear, coupled with friends swearing blind they have seen rear tyres leave the ground under heavy high speed braking i nave never wanted to lighten the rear subby in the slightest. That said i want to now i never drive the fucker. has anyone ever put weight back in?

i went for a full steel front to keep weight over the drive wheels
and mine used to go very light at the rear on the brakes, and did not go un noticed by the fellow mini club members and this was at a meet

i know this shows 2 of us but i can lift it on my own

mine got used 3-4 times a week for 6 months always in anger, mainly tweeking and data logging , then decided that the a+ series will not give me the performance i want

corner weighting was the best handling improvement by far and the rear diffuser was the best addition in terms of stability, it used to bounce at motorway speeds ( not physically bounce) but hopefully you know what i mean, the diffuser gave it a very planted feel and felt safe approaching 7k 4th gear

I found mine handled better on a subby and cones , but this was (I think) a lot to do with the fact that the coil over come standard with very low poundage springs .and too high shocks .

making it hard to get it firm on the back , so it rolls ,and low as the cones .which were just rubbing the stock arches on big bumps.

now I have gone from the stock 75/90lbs progressive springs to 150 lb springs its befinately better , but still needs more I would say .
some 175 lb ers ,and a shorter shock to get the back of the car right down , would make a big diff , although the low c of g ,from the very low weight of a full sub ,would be hard to replicate .
