I took 4.5KG per side off by fitting KAD cast alu rear arms, superfin drums and S.C. alu hubs. On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

I have a question, for people that have experience with both set-ups, which do you prefer, the extra weight with the doughnuts or coilys with a rear beam?

I used to keep my sub box and trolly jack in the boot so the rear had a little more weight, back when i actually used to drive my mini i always felt it was too light at the rear, coupled with friends swearing blind they have seen rear tyres leave the ground under heavy high speed braking i nave never wanted to lighten the rear subby in the slightest. That said i want to now i never drive the fucker. has anyone ever put weight back in? turbo 16v k-series 11.9@118.9 :)

I found mine handled better on a subby and cones , but this was (I think) a lot to do with the fact that the coil over come standard with very low poundage springs .and too high shocks .
