how does this one look to you guys?

IF I BUY ONE WHAT SHOULD I LOOK FOR? play? where how what?

http://aenpcars.be/nl/content/turbo-gt1752...r-saab-9-3-benz

the second link is from a belgian company who asks 699 for a new one ( 578 pounds) and also sells copy's for 499 ( 415 pounds) but they clame the copys come straight from sweden and are a good copy.

Simples. It says Garrett on it *wink*

That's the difficult bit, you will never be sure unless you physically inspect it. However, these SAAB turbo's tend to suffer damage on the compressor inducer tips for some bazaar reason, which is detectable just by looking at it. As with any used turbo, slop in the journal and thrust can only be determined properly using a DTI, or best guess feel.

They can be found for as little as £30 or anywhere up to £180+ used and condition will always be questionable.

The ones you are looking for were only ever fitted to the SAAB 9-3 and 9-5 petrol models. any VNT will be from a diesel engine from somewhere else.

Quotes from the ebay link above

We have for sale a BRAND NEW GENUINE SAAB turbo charger

The turbo is GARRETT GT1752 turbo

This is a GENUINE SAAB part

That is three lines that say it is a genuine Garrett part, and the listing says another twice in the title that it is a Garrett part. If it is infact a copy, not only is the seller breaking ebay listing rules, he is probably breaking the law somewhere too.

I don't see anywhere where it says it is a copy?........

A genuine SAAB part is the Garrett part *wink*

I'd suggest that is the real thing.

The GT1752 from the SAAB 9-3 or 9-5 is a petrol turbo. If you find a VNT GT17 it will be off a diesel for sure, but not the SAAB

the 555 number is a SAAB OEM part number. The 4522 number is a Garrett part number. You need to cross reference the two

thats a VNT from a deisel,

the actuator will most likely be vacum actuated, also it will probably be a bit small.

Hi.

Been looking on for this ( don't want the project to come to a complete halt so...)

I have been offerd a turbo of a saab 95 1800 regular ( non diesel) car from the breakers bit further here.

As they're description its a turbo coming from a good runner with waste gate and for in/outlets.

They ask 180 euro ( around 130 to 150 pounds) for it. Whould that be a good one?

re
looked at the mail again. I asked from a 1,8 liter diesel they indeed didn't send back its from a 1,8 liter but from a saab 95. Thats it. Would it do the trick? They have not send me the number of the thing ( they never bother if you want something from a car you need to take your gear and get it out yourself)

Saab only made a diesel engine for the 9-5 as small as 1900cc...... that is diesel and will likely be a VNT

You need to be looking for the Saab 9-3 year 2000 - 2001 or Saab 9-5 year 1999 - 2005 with the 2.0L or the 2.3L petrol engine

Also consider the Mitsubishi TD04HL-15T which is a very similar fitment and application.
