Ive got a standard t3 cast iron exhaust manifold with what appears to be a common problem. The two dividers that face the turbine housing are well, a little crap. Im worried that with more heat and more use that they will crack and potentially crumble off into my turbo. Is it safe to just grind these two back to prevent this?

Also, if this is not possible, where can one get a tubular manifold made up? I like the thought of having a tubular one over the cast item.

Thanks in advance.

Is it ok to completely do away with them then? As in, just grind them right away? That wouldnt have an adverse effect on the turbo would it?

cut it back but as minimal as possible as it relies on pulse from exhaust to spool the T3 up.

Have a look here on this manifold I did. You can see how they can be cut back.

When I ground out the GT1752 to suit the Metro manifold I needed to cut back the dividers more than that as I visualised the flow being restricted unless I did.

I,m an intuitive not objective modifier so the experts on here can tell me if I did wrong or not.

The results were satisfying (138 bhp on 12 psi) so maybe not too bad.
