Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

SC drops are noisey, is short if you are going to use a std helical gearset use SC drops.

if you are going to use say a SC gearset say minispares clubman set use standard drops they will live and a lot less noisey

or you could just fit SC drops and SC gearset but IMO spend your money with the clubman set and use standard helical drops it will be much less noisey and you will have a better ratio of gears that std helical set

hope this helps

the prices are roughley the same.

IMO:- better to spend your money on a much better gearset ratio.

I've got a 23 tooth primary and 1st motion shaft (1:1), coupled with a clubman sc/cr gear set and its bloody loud. I can be heard from a long way!

If i were to do it again, i would try a 24 tooth set up, still (1:1), or a SC gear set and Helical drops. Im sure i've read somewhere that the MPI drops are the ones to use.

In short a full SC set up is far from ideal if you want a reasonable noise in car for cruising along.

For road use minispares clubman gearset is the one to have.

I use helicals but dont use the car everyday so odds of them losing teeth are slim. F1 cars use helical gears in their gearboxes but I they don't have drop gears which are the weak point

1:1 drop gears and MS clubman SC gearset with 3.2:1 final drive,

Little noisey put a pleasure to drive

What the mind can conceive the mini can achieve
MITP 2012 17.01 seconds 1/4 mile against "The Don"
MITP 2013 16.83 seconds 1/4 mile

For a mild turbo road motor I'd go helical 1:1 drops, clubman SC gear set and a 3.2fd.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

Does anyone know if I can rebuild a 1300gt gear set into an a plus case so I can use some a+ drops? As I already have the gear set it would make sense rather than buying a clubman gearset or buying a series drop gears when everything else I have is a+

So would the 2.9 be to tall then? And the 3.2 better suited , I would like to keep it nippy round town but also be a good cruiser
