What would be the best diameter fuel pipe/hose to use for the feed and return? I'm going to be running a facet silver top electric pump. Iv got the standard fuel pipe from the tank on a 71 van but think it's 5or 6mm diameter and iv heard 8mm is what's needed. Is this correct? Want to check before I fit it all and clip it up tidy only to have to rip it all out again for a larger pipe. Any advise will be greatly appreciated!!!! Your here for a good time! Not a long time!

A facet silver top will not be up to the job for turbo use, you want an injection pump. 8mm is what has been fitted to shauna's car recently (998 turbo around 80ish hp) and will be fitted to my own car (eventually aiming for around 170hp 1380t) so that should do you fine!

ok thanks for the info! what fuel pressures should I be looking for in a pump, the engine is the works engine from med engineering so need something with a bit of oomph cos im a bit partial to a bleed screw lol an spi tank is not really an option cos I got a 71 van.

Ahh true, forgot about the van part! You want something around 2-3 bar capable really, just an external pump, have a search on here as there's been a few people on here to have modified the tank to give a more stable fuel feed, as van tanks can suffer from surge/starvation as it sloshes about. Use 8mm small bore central heating pipe from B and Q for feed and return unless you are going for silly boost. |

Yeah 8mm ID, we used microbore copper pipe as suggested above On 26th Jan, 2012 Tom Fenton said:

I used the gas stuff as it was re-enforced with an external rubber coating. I thought it might help with the odd stone.
I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

bear in mind the central heating stuff is external not internal diameter. Having said that, I'm running 8mm supply and 10mm return
