Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

the garret T3 fitted to the mg metro turbo is in my oppinion far too LARGE!

a T2 turbo from say a R5 GT TURBO is sized about spot on!*wink*

the bulk head boxes can be optained from avonbar ( see below)

http://www.speedgenie.co.uk/avonbar/bulkhbox.html

but...... with a T2 you dont need the box as the turbo just sqeezes in. ( no modifications to the bulk head)

with the T 2 conversion your best bet is look below on the link, the MIRAGE kit is great.

http://www.miragemotorsport.com/

heres what they say
The manifold set included 3 separate pieces, exhaust manifold, turbine exhaust adapter and down pipe. Each component is made from selected high grades of stainless steel tubing. The company who produces the manifolds has a long history in this field and has worked on many race and rally cars. The manifolds come with a manufacturer backed lifetime guarantee. Further to this we have spent over 12 months road testing the manifolds.

do your home work & GOOD LUCK!*smiley*

think that says it all bud. avonbar do the best bulkhead boxes, you can make ure own but why bother its more hassle than its worth. as for t3 i have had no issues with this turbo, so if you want to avoid expense in the t2 conversion then this one is ok, most of the folks are running this "spooler" it all depends on what you want mate. you need to have a clear objective before plunging into the build / buy. what sort of Hp you want, what budget etc etc. the only advice i would be able to add to Bens is if you buy 2nd hand (which you probably will unless u is minted) strip and rebuild prior to putting into the car !! otherwise you will be pulling engines out and getting pissed off. my other advise is be neurotic like moi ! then you will probably make sure the engine is sweet before it goes in lol !

good luck the lads n lasses on here are all top folk with bags of wisdom / advice / lunacy take ure pic *wink*

First time into turbo minis? Slightly limited knowledge / experience / facilities?
The T3 is one serious option. These are a no-brainer, factory fit - with downpipes ready made to bolt straight up without modification. Actuator, oil feed, oil drain, etc - everything is already there and sorted.

When you get more experienced and want to play, then you can decide which route to take as the 'next level'.

Or you can fit the mirage and T2. Bank on ?500+ fot the manifolds and suitable turbo however... I've no personal experience of this, but Nic has - it's far from a one-hour job to fit however. No bulkhead mods mind - so take that into account also.

First mini turbo to get in the 12's & site perv

daa daa http://www.turbominis.co.uk/forums/index.php?p=vt&tid=5742

as dave said, its far from a one hour fit kit but i managed it and only have experience of playing around in the garage. I used no donor metro turbo parts (because i didnt have any) so things may be a bit easier if you have a donor

but its all worth it in the end

I fully agree that the T3 is the best way to start on your first turbo conversion.

But only if you have a T3 in good condition. If your T3 is in need of reconditioning then it may well be worth reading old posts on here about the T2 conversion as in my opinion it is the best setup.

The mirage setup will simplify the install, but if you decide on the adapter plate route then you need to plan a fair bit of time into the build. Fitting an intercooler alone can need many hours of head scratching untill your satisfied with the install.

That said, engine development is what keeps us all interested. :)
