Hi all,

I've searched as much as possible yet I cannot find an answer.

Excluding all the other dimensions on the mg metro plenum.

Could anyone give me the measurements of,

The restrictor ring diameter

The depth from the mounting face to the back of the plenum

The width and depth of the 2 cut outs that allow air to enter the Carby

I'm in Australia. A standard retrofit is not an option as they are not plentiful over here. I have made my own plenum with really good results.
My only issue is the enrichment caused by the plenum is excessive. I have the thickest possible needle. With a turbo Spring. Yet at WOT my afr is under 10-1.

I know it's caused by too much restriction in the plenum. I've pulled it off and opened up the 2 slots a bit more. I'm yet to test it.

If someone could grab a plenum and their vernier calipers and take a few photos I will be forever greatful.

Ok thanks for your help.

The first link, first suggests 37mm simple restrictor "plate".. Then later that idea is retracted. Turbo Dave said an exact copy of the OEM restrictor was perfect. That thread does not continue with said info.

The second thread just makes a point of saying to not bother making your own.

I've got the skills and equipment to make it work. Just not those 3 measurements..

I asked Wil_H the same question when I made mine as I knew he made his own too.
He had a restrictor lying around and took some measurements and drew me up a pic, when I get home I'll have a trawl through my emails and post it up

Go for a pitot tube instead? You only need to ensure that the pressure in the float bowl is just higher than at the bridge in the carb, it doesn't need a huge pressure difference.

It would be easy to replicate the ring with a piece of small tube, cut and welded if need be.

it would make life easier just to do that, rather than experimenting.

speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

Ok, so the only thing i don't have is the depth from the mounting face to the back of the plenum...

2" external diameter

I am forever in debt to you sir. This information is the only essential info needed to get a plenum functional. And it is almost impossible to find.

This is what it's in

Just to clear it up the 20mmx30mm bit is the metal tab left. Not the cutout?,
