Hi there

I have an Austin Healey Sprite 1275 with a Mercedes Kompressor. I put the blower on the alternator side. The setup is:

- airfilter > throttle > bypass valve > blower > intercooler > inlet manifold (with 4 injectors)

Downside is that I have an enormous lentght of piping with all risks of 'false air'.

Where is do you guys put the throtlle (also to be able to close it when needed)?

Should be bypass valve not be after the blower before the intercooler?

How long is the pipe? If you worked out the capacity of it and think about how quickly that would be emptied even at low RPM, it's probably not an issue.

You can put the throttle after the blower but obviously you need a big bypass valve for when engine is on over run.

If you have the throttle before the blower you dont need the bypass valve but throttle response may be a bit sluggish in comparison.

I believe most people run the latter.

Right, it appears it is a bit sluggish. Total length op piping must be 2,5 meter ...

2.5m, yikes. Got any photos? I can't imagine how that's possible, even under a Sprite bonnet.

Mine must be over 2m, it's the intercooler that does it.

'Where does the engine go?'
