New but old member here,
Just needing some help on the final stages of the build. I got to the point where i'm having a go at tuning the engine. I recently bought a snap on timing light off of ebay, only its either faulty or I'm using it wrongly. Has anyone had any experence with one of these and could give me some pointers. I getting a very intermittent flash but the the car is not missfiring?.

its a MT2261A.

what type of snap on timimg light is it, eg the newer computerized one or the older type

sorry i see what type it is, first of all is the pick-up on lead number one, if it is and you are still getting this problem then i would suspect that the pick up is faulty, but make sure that you can see no visablr damage, these pick ups are easy to brake

ive had 2 problems with a snap on timing light like what i think youve got digital display and about 6 buttons on it?

1, in the part that clips onto plug leads theres like a carbon flat piece that can crack

2, also in the gun part there was a lose connection on a plug so it might be worth just carefully taking it apart and haveing a look make sure the plugs are all in properly, if the above fails youll have to send for repair.

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

Hi,
Also check the power lead as mine had a fracture in it where it went into the unit. HTH
Cheers,
Gavin. :)
