Ok, so with turbo you dont do big bore, but big cc means power- so what about long stroke and .020 overbore?

Paul

I seriously doubt it!

If you have the budget to do that, then try it!

Big CC`s will be better than smaller cc`s

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

wolfie whats the config of the engine, stroker please.*happy*

say we had a 86mm crank instead of the standard 81mm

its getting a piston to do the job with the correct pin to crown height & right amount of cc in the dish!
does any one know of pistons to accommodate bigger strokes for our turbo applications

larger strokes are the way to go with the A series Turbo.

as we know the rpm to be kept under 6500 rpm and the turbo is nothing more than a torque multiplier so strokers is the way forward FOR BIG POWER*wink*

73.5 mm omegas then get the tops turned down, put it on a stroked crank and you got ureself 1480cc the omegas are very tough i used em on high compression race engines and they last very well !!!! got a nice thick crown on em too

And keeping compresssion down would be a nightmare with such CCs....

hey all, yeah i was runnign a stroker turbo for over 5 years with no engine problems.
I ran an offset ground large journal crank to 84mm and a +20 thou bore and used custome made forged psitons made here in OZ with changed pin heights, check all my other questiosn out here and my piston and cam damage etc.
it was a great motor, revved hard and drove easy, for many years i ran the std metro set up then fitted a T28 and it was even better due to the better spread of torque.
but the tail on the crank has now died due to the flywheel welding onto it, so now back to a std stroke crank

179hp on 12psi 1293cc of pure A series

indeed, but with some carefull planning getting the pistons dished and some work on the head should lower it down nicely....i would like to think anyway :) if not just drill a big hole in the front of the block that should lower cr too :) :) :) :) :)

i have a 84.3 mm full monty crank and genuine cooper s rods

tbh i have not put a huge amount of thought into it the pistons i was hoping to get some help/info from here

i want to build it on a budget really as i have enough parts to builld 2 engines although i want to use the best parts in the standard stroke engine just because its a proven combination and the stroker is a bit of a unknown
