Hi,
You'll find a T3 on a cossie it's good for 300 bananas... But I don't see how that relates the restrictor in the plenum? I'm sure there's people on here running over 200 yellow fruits using the T3..........
Cheers,
Gavin. :)

thanks bat . um the t3 comes with different size wheels on the compressor . these tend to vary mostly in the id of the inlet blades ,or inducer.the cossie t3 prob has an inducer of 46 mm ish.the t3 on a metro has an inducer of 37mm ish ,its known as the 40 trim wheel i think.so i was curious to know how much bhp it can supply ,and wether anyone out there has reached a bhp ceiling due to using the 40 trim wheel .as i say .im guessing at 190 ,but would be interested to see if this info its out there .regards robert.

Hi,
Sorry mate never realised it was called an inducer... you learn so much on here. I guess you need a resident expert for this one......... Don't know if this is any help or not
Cheers,
Gavin. :)

no sweat gavin ,i appreciate your trying to help.the info in compressor maps i had allready ,i can see that a 40 trim would flow enough air for 200 plus ,but that if yuo need to step the boost higher than about 25 ,you get less and less efficient ( cool ),air, and theres a sort of tip over point in turbos where the boost increase actually reduces the efficiency of the turbo to the point where yuo dont get more power ,and can actually get less,.regards robert.

Hi,
I see where your coming from, the more you compress the air the hotter it gets and therefore expands. Which is kind of defeating the object! I know on the Cossies that the standard T3 only supplies enough air for 300BHP, after that it's a T35. It's a juggling act between too much lag and not enough air at the top end! Perhaps you could look at the Escort turbo hybrids as the metro recon units are the same exhaust AR as the escort.....
Cheers,
Gavin. :)
