what ecu are you planning to use? I assume this is going to be fuel injecteced and turbod. Are you still using a 5 port head?

I can supply a computer file that will allow you to get a trigger wheel laser cut from 10mm thick steel. You can then get this in a lathe, and machine it so it drops behind the front pulley.

Let me know if you want a copy.

If you are tempted to do an injection system, speak to Jim or myself first... The A-Series is a nightmare to inject, despite what minispeed will have you believe...

and
http://www.planet.eon.net/%7Echichm/efi/siamese.htm
are the best resources for information on this subject, written by a proffesionally qualified engineer who has spent many hours researching the subject and physically trying to make it work properly... The only system 'out there' at the moment that seems to work properly is the unit from MBE- which is very expensive *frown*

Hi.

Is it a 36-1 tooth pattern ?? if it is can i get a copy of the file please as i also looking into doing a EFI system for the 5 port head.

So Jim and Dave you've both got A-Series Engines running on EFI then ?? what systems are you using and is it a 4 Injector setup or just the 2.
I've seen local to me a Green mini turbo thats running the Emerald ECU and it runs great on the track at Curborough so he must be doing somthing right although i think it's still running a little lean at the high RPM due the fuel robbing effects of the 5 port head.
I'm told Weber is the best setup for the 5 Port head on the mini.

Thanks
Karl.

I've got the Emelard ECU, and dave uses DTA, none of us are currently running injection, but dave has in the past, and I plan to give it a god in the future

Jim and Dave,

i have read many threads here and on MM about your cars and im sure you have seen my name too.

i will be fitting a alloy cross flow 8 port (ken Elder OZ) and then fitting twin Injection perfection throttle bodies (see link) from there i may change my turbo from the T28 to somthing else but not an issue right now.
I want to run cranck fire ignition and fuel through a microtech (OZ see link).

I know the 5 port is just cr*p for injection so i am not going to even bother with it.

I am coming to the UK in July and August this year as one of my mates from OZ is pinching one of you ladies so i am going for the wedding so while I am there i want to buy many things that you just cant get here in OZ.

let me know your thoughts.

8 port head is an absolute doddle to inject!!!!

I'd be using a 'plenum' with a single throttle bodt rather than one butterfly per inlet tract mind - this will also allow it to stay in a roundnose with no external mods...

200+++ hp would be reasonably easy to get with a decent injection system, 8 port head and decent turbo....

Doodmeister, they guy you are on about is Graham Harvey. He is a member of this forum and has written a bit about is car here:

http://www.turbominis.co.uk/forums/index.php?p=vt&tid=4952

Red850, if you're flush with money you can buy one like this from minispeed

http://www.turbominis.co.uk/forums/index.php?p=vt&tid=4792

I think KAD also make a wheel and pickup kit

yeah i read both of those posts and have enquired about the KAd one, Minispeed seem to be a bit funny to deal with, and we all know the quality of work that comes out of KAD.

y get the KAD kit, comes with a bracket to hold a cossie crank sensor but a simple mod will allow you to fit an Ford EDIS sensor.

I'm really behind with the project at the mo, must get my ass in gear.
