Ok, I've just read the thread below entitled 'first time starting'

It briefly mentions using a T piece instead of a tank return.

However it then says that said T pice would need to be fabricated due to differing sizes.

Ive just seen this on the Bay:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/METAL-T-PIECE-FUEL-U...1QQcmdZViewItem

and I am wondering if it would do the trick.

I understand that it is larger than the tank outlet, same size as my fuel return, but smaller than my pump inlet (metro turbo item)
but i was thinking it would be ok.

Any thoughts guys?

Cheers

Gaz.

i'll stick my neck out and say it'll be ok as its the same size as your return. If i'm right then after 18 months of reading and learning from this forum, i've given my first correct tech advise lol

If you are using it on the turbo fuel system it`s no good because you do not want back pressure on the return fuel to the tank

the T would go between the tank and the pump, its a subject that been brought up a fair few times and the exact reason WHY is it works i'm a little vauge on, but i'm pretty sure its do do with the return pressure is lower than the feed pressure therefor fuel return is also under a certain amount of suck from the pump. Could be wrong.

I cant see it interfearing with the pressure regulator.

i got mine and the two 'though' connectors are 8mm and the 90 degree one is 6mm. Will that cause issues if i'm running 6mm feed and 8mm return as that T will cause a restriction.

I'm thinking it'll just be easier to get the tank done lol

Hi,
I don't think that tee will be big enough. The pipe between the tank and pump will be 12mm. I can't see a problem with feeding the return into the suction side of the pump as there won't be a lot of pressure in that pipe. When it's plumbed in check your fuel pressure at the carb, you should be able to get it down to about 0.5 PSI. If not there's too much restriction in the return :(
Cheers,
Gavin. :)
