kean tried the old 1" spacer and a set of 10" wellers over 8.4" discs and it just looked wrong, which is how i'm guessing they get round it with these wheels. he's now running a set of S brakes.....

Hi,
You can use Mk I Fiesta calipers, have the 8.4 disc machined down and put just about any 10" rim on top. Can't remember which forum I saw all the details on though :(
Cheers,
Gavin. :)

As if by magic! Thats where the other forums nicked it from.

Very large pad area. Very powerful brakes. I may still have some new calipers in my stash, though you will need the mounts.

no its not *tongue*
check miniclassic and minimania *tongue*

out of interest any pics of Iains hoses and a price maybe

and has anyone got the fiesta calipers on a turbo mini yet ?

it was not me that came up with the idea somone else on miniclassic posted about it but was shot down in flames kinda like I was for suggesting an injection tank instead of messing about with drilling and welding tanks *wink*
but I dont care about opinions hence me doing the fiesta conversion and converting a few others with my posts and pics about it :)

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

I cant quite remember the price but it is in the £20/30 bracket.

basically its identical to a mini front brake hose but 2" longer and with the correct fitting for the fezzy callipers (m6 x 1 i seem to recall? really cant remember!!)

Cheers Iain I'll think about it because I'm skint *laughing*
and cheers for chucking them in the pick 1071 *wink*
my only gripe with the fiesta conversion is the metro driveflange pushes the wheels out too far although they look kinda cool out like that I'd still prefer them in a tad but thats my next mission if I do another set *wink*

Hi,
There's this way of doing it also....

But I think that set up uses the hubs off the drum brake setup, I think that amount of offset on a drum bearing set up isn't going to last long though! Apparently they stick out the same amount a S disks according to the site....
Cheers,
Gavin :)

I've seen that way but dont have any drum hubs as I dumped the ones I had *oh well*
but I rekon with a touch of shaveing on the mounting ears and a touch machined off the metro flanges will help but you never know I might never get around to it *laughing*

I agree with you mini1071s the fiesta brakes are the best ive ever driven. They did better than my mates vented alloy 4 pot setup when i was on the ring and they're still going strong. Im going to do another set for my pickup and the only thing im gona change is how i do the hoses.
