I started working on the turbo mini for the first time this weekend. Got it up in the air and it's got a HOOOGE hole in the rear subframe. Not sure to even bother to attempt this job as i've heard it's a bastard. Does anyone have any tips?

Also, i need to change the air filter pipe that goes to the turbo. How's the best way to do this as the bloody actuator is in the way. Do I have to strip everything off inc actuator until i can get to it, or would it be better to try and get at it from underneath?

Cheers guys...

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

the first job is to remove the subframe and replace this with a NEW one !

its not as big a job as you think.*wink*

dont forget to paint your new subframe say with red oxide paint & coat with a gloss paint of your choice or whatever!

this will extended the life of it 3 fold.

second you can sneak in and change the hose without going in too deep removing items you stated,

i know its a pig of a job, but you will sort it if you are patient *wink*

good luck!

& keep us posted on your progress

Hi,
Changing a subframe isn't too bad. Remove exhaust, disconnect hand brake cable and brake pipe. Remove shocks from radius arms and your about done. The difficult bit can be the four bolts holding the subframe to the heelboard. Keep soaking these in freeing oil for as long as possible. Then give them a sharp smack on the head before unscrewing them.
Cheers,
Gavin :)
