I am rebuilding my complete front and rear subframes and was thinking of rebuilding it with poly bushes what are the advantages of this and disadvantags if any.

When rebuilt it will be used for heavy track day use and road use. The front subframe will have solid bottom mounts and KAD solid top mounts. I am unsure of how to fix the rear subframe, would like it solid mounted like the front subby, help would be of great help.

I have heard bad reports of the yellow poly bushes, some shearing off, i have fitted a set for someone before and they were a bastard to fit, should they be oiled.

I have seen some purple bushes, are these different to the yellow ones? Which bushes are best and where would be best to get them from.

Many thanks Barkiboi.

I was advised by a certain TD on here to fit yellow Poly bushes on the bottom arms on the front subframe this was ages ago, And I do believe the car feels better for it and I get Less Torque steer!

I only have the standard rubber mounts at the back of the subframe so i can't comment on them.
Do it!

Imk guessing he means at the bottome of the "Performance Polly Bushes" within the "Suspension" page.

I was going to try them too, then decided on the mninispares one after advice from a friend, then ended up with rose joints so was all an exercise in pointlessness as usual!

ive never used them, but thinking outloud...

i cant see how the poly bushes cope with different castor angles of modded/performance suspension setups?

if there "solid", and under strain, then i would have thought surely somethings gonna give, sooner or later.

then again, maybe some poly mounts are better than others?? got more "give"?

Just had a bit of an idea.

Theyll be injection moulded, with their "complex" shape (a ring) they are bound to have a weldline(s).

next time someone has one thats failed, send it to me (or someone that REALLY knows what theyre talking about) just to see it its poor manufacture or just simply not up to the job fullstop.
