Just been for the new mot thing.No emmisions test as my 89 G reg metro is to old and don't have a cat:cool:

No emissions test for my T reg Xsara either this year.

Hi,
FAIK pre '72 means a visual smoke check rather than co% measurement. '72 to 90 something max of 3.5% CO at idle and a max of 1200HC.

My 89 metro turbo never had a co test at all,I think they only bother with cars newer than 92 with a cat on

to be honest it should have had a check i think. my 1974 clubby has to be put on the analiser, pipe up the rear, machine says is any smoke visible, no, test passed.

so im pretty sure it should have been put on the analyser but hey at least its passed*smiley*

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

Hi,
In that case then it's visible smoke to '75

'75 - '92ish max 3.5%CO, 1200HC at idle... don't think this is right anymore... Testers manual says...

To assess that these conditions are met, MOT Testers can either
. Use their own judgement, or
. Refer to manufacturer's or other reliable data

So it looks like take your best guess! *surprised*

'92ish onwards cat test........

The MOT stations should be doing the tests, cause they have to keep the printouts! Thats why Carl's went on the machine even though its only a visible smoke test *wink*

ive found theve become much more stict on the matter. mine failed in jan and he was being so shitty with it coz it was 3.2% (89 mini). so in the end i was adjusting the mixture whilst he tested it lol
