As we all know, the pipe to the pressure regulator needs to be 5/16, and the outlet from the plenum is 1/4.

If we fit this:

http://www.minispares.com/Product.aspx?pid=34784

Will this do any harm? It will cock up the gas velocity, but it's pressure that's important here right??

anyone fitted this?

that looks handy, would it do any harm fitting it between the reg and carb on the fuel supply? i had some right grief getting 8mm pipe to clamp down onto the 6mm carb unions.

I use reducers on both lines (reg-fuel supply and plenum-reg). No problemos.

I used pipe to suit the smaller pipe stub, and then stretched the other end enough to be a snug fit on the larger tails of the fuel regulator.

With a combination of a pot full of boiling hot water and a tapered bar it is not that hard to stretch it sufficiently to make it fit.

I can't take the credit for this though as I believe it is turbo daves trick.

I've always got the 1/4" EFI spec fuel hose onto the 8mm outlets on the regulator pretty easilly... I have outlined the technique previously - maybe someone can find it with a search?

Nothing wrong with using an adaptor - but it's adding two potential leak paths.

6mm fuel injection hose.
Immerse in boiling water for a few minutes.
Whilst doing that, get a 'heel bar' and hold it in your vise, taper upwards. Grease the taper.

Bring hose out of boiling water, and ram, slide, push, twist, etc onto the taper. Let cool. Slide off taper, immerse in boilling water again.
Ram, slide, push, twist, etc onto taper, then pull off taper and simply 'pop' it onto the regulator pipes (yes, it really does just pop on there).

You should really be using EFI hose here - which is usually harder to 'work' than lower grade stuff; hence why I adopted the above technique.

Easy*wink*

This is what a heel bar looks like: http://www.machinemart.co.uk/images/produc...MM040210272.jpg

Available from anywhere that sells tools. Sometimes incorrectly called a 'pry bar'...
