they are just little things that i came across and cant think about whats right so need some help!

the oil filter housing, should tihs have a spacer between it and the block? - the bolts apear much longer than they need to be with no spacer but i cant see a spacer, lol

the oil feed to the oil cooler, the banjo at the top right of the block, should there be something else on that same bold, and what? it doesent nip the banjo up at the moment, i cant work it out! what was there?

becouse its not going to be turbo (for now) i have a mechanicle fuel pump, does this need a spacer aswell? sililar thing with the oil filter housing, looks like it should have one.

now a slightly embarasing one?
the pot joint wasent going on to smoothly so i used an extension bar and hit it with a hammer from under the wheel arch, got one side on ok but the other side will not go on, then when i took it off to check the teeth again i noticed i had bent the metal disk in it and put a hole in it, i gues this stops the grease from coming out and i need a new disk or a pot joint if i can find one of them easyer? lol

other than that. great day :) thanks for any replies i know there silly little things but there silly little things that i really need to know!

thanks. Dan

i would take pics but it doesent show detail verry well, its an ooold camera lol.

thanks, Dan

Hi,
Oil filter housing has a gasket between it and the block, nothing else. there are two different stud lenghts though *wink*
Oil pipe banjo, should have a copper washer either side of the pipe.
Yes, mechanical fuel pump has a plastic spacer block, with a gasket either side too *wink*
The core plug type thing in the middle of the pot joint also stops the engine oil escaping out of the pot joint, so you need to get that sorted. If the joints aren't going on smoothly check the spring clip on the end of the diff output shaft, if it's damaged that will cause you're problem.
Clutch pipe .. I think it should go straight from the master to the slave. I haven't seen one to be sure though!
Phew, thats enough typing for now!
Cheers,
Gavin :)

My 2 pence worth on oil filter housing, didn't mg metro engines have water cooled oil filter housings that required the longer bolts?

Whats going to break next!?
