Well my theory is that an equivelent spec 998 will make 25% less power than a 1275. So, posttentially one could make 170 bhp in 5 port guise. A short stroke 16v motor is a different story though.

Do you have any specs of this 998 or power graphs. We have seen 140bananas out of our 998, but hoping for a bit more this year.

Finally, building a 998 turbo is a bit pointless. a 1275 will always be more powerful and has more parts available to build a strong short engine. Got to say nothing is pointless, yes a 1275 turbo will be more powerfull than a 998 but its the idea of having somthing different and having chalenges along the way, a 1275 turbo is tried and tested, a 998 not so, i did think about supercharging my 998 but it was wrecked and too expensive for me to do at the time. If you want to do it go ahead, its always good to be different and when people ask what you got under hood a 998 turbo always sounds good. |

I'm waiting for my new inlet manifold to be finished as well. Then once the new water/meth is set up its time to go back to the dyno. Hopefully with the new boost controller i am sorting out the boost will come on a bit quicker too as it holds all the pressure back from the wastegate until it reaches the desired pressure Caution !!!! Slippery when boosting |

You are right about York and at Avon we are in a class we can't compete. However that is not what the car is built for. We sprint/hillclimb in the modified production car class upto 1400cc. The class has a 1.4 multipler for forced induction so our 998 turbo can compete power wise with sorted 1400 screamers of all makes. http://www.twin-turbo.co.uk
