Carbon doors arent much more than that are they? Definately seen some fibreglass ones for around £300 a pair. Wouldn't want to have composite doors without door bars on a cage though. Could get away with it with alloy ones.

leeds/wakefield.

they are not alluminium doors , its only a skin, hardly a big saving overall if you discount removing the gubbins, and as for carbon doors ,ive yet to see a door made purely from the stuff, just like Jims that appear to be your normal chopped matt glass ,backed up with what is supposed to look like some woven carbon matt, but looks more like woven glass to me with black pigment added to complete the illusion ,[sorry jim], ,
I on the other hand do have proper full alluminium doors, and weigh not a lot.

MSA regs require 4mm, don't want you to fail scrutineering Alex.

LMFAO

Was looking at this though they dont do the ally skins (Not dissimilar to ) earlier today as Summerford Minis ballsed up my new door skin and TBH i was not looking forward to doing it. Realised that they are only round the corner so save on any postage. The other place is within half an hours drive too.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Thanks for the info... those doors are currently in the bin! I'm sure they wouldnt have liked the lack of handles or the lack of door bottoms either!!

You'd be amazed what you can get away with. My mates Imp only had 3mm plastic windows. Thing is, how do you measure it?

My old doors were just like yours Alex, no bottoms and no (internal) handles, never had a problem with them at scrutineering.

better than carbon, I'd use them on the road yes. Still not the lightest thing around though.

Ive put ally skins on mine as i was un impressed with the carbon (fiberglass) ones. He was a top guy to deal with, i was going to a mates in blackpool and he arranged to meet me at his unit at 8.00 pm. I only got the skins off him tho so not sure wot its like to get him to do them, but at £45 each thaught they were a bargin.
The weight of the skins compared to the steel ones was very good, i should of weighed them.
