There is no sense crying over every mistake- you just keep on trying til you run out of cake. |

Just fitted one of these as an engine inlet temp. gauge.Shows 10C rise over ambient on the run (big intercooler) but the heatsoak after shutdown is 35C over ambient.I've put the sensor on the plenum inlet, tucked between the Samco and the alloy pipe. 'Where does the engine go?' |

Ok, thanks! I found this one on a dutch site (watercooling doesn't ship to the netherlands). The sensor is for measuring water temperature. Would it work for measuring air temp as well?

Probably, but you would need to drill/tap the plenum inlet to fit it into the air stream.Mine is a simple stick on resistor wire sensor,so I could feed it between the plenum inlet pipe and the Samco silicone hose.It relies on heat transfer through the alloy,so probably reacts slowly. Rather than buying leads why dont you just fit a 5V regulator?!?!?! |

Um,in my case the 5v leads were only £2 extra from the same source and I have enough trouble keeping the smoke in the wires as it is. 'Where does the engine go?' |

I'm loving this, nice try Mr 3 posts! JF. Enough said :) no offence good buddy if ure intentions were all good, but everyone looks out for EVERYONE on this forum, Tom is simply trying to stop some of the "greener" members being ripped off (not that your a rip off) the whole point of THIS for sale section is to get high quality trusted items, second hand or otherwise at a good cost. and alas your item seems a tad pricey. you can buy reliable temp sensor gauges and probes from maplin for a 3rd of the cost (and the back light wont fail) Tom is looking out for everyones interests here mate if you dont like constructive criticism then this forum/family s not for you...... once again not having a go take it on the chin and chalk it down to experience bro. try selling em on ebay at ure price
Richie nicely put Richie. although i dont post much on here i do follow it and your comments seem to me to illustrate the genuine spirit and intentions of the Forum.
edit:- whoops, didn't notice the dates, too absorbed in the chat. Yea allright bit of a clot Edited by littlejem59 on 12th Jun, 2009. It's not the age that makes me creak it's the mileage |
