So - how about a change in the post?

Metro - I am pretty sure Stuart was on here in the early days of TM telling how it was. I know my bulkhead box from avonbar (probably 1997 / 1998 purchase) came with hand-drawn (and many-times over, re-photocipied) These are the instructions, that Stuart says were in his own fair hand.

The ERA box was little like the Avonbar one - it was barely big enough to do the job - IIRC there was around 15mm between the turbo and the box, and 'hugged' the turbo - wheras the 'aftermarket' one is plently large enough - ish...

LIke Dave I always felt the Mirage manifold is overpriced and as I wanted the manifold only begrudged the extra cost of the downpipe. If this is infriginging some kind of copyright or patent then its up to Mirage to deal with it not us and I'm not sure they have a patent on "shiny" or "stainless" Meanwhile good luck.. Maybe with some competition the prices may start to drop...

The way I look at it, if you as an idividual can make and sell them for £250 and still make a profit mirage must be making a huge amount on each one they sell! As said before a little bit of healthy competition doesn't hurt anyone.

Just remember that mirage also include the correctly formed downpipe in there kit.

Theres nothing that beats the feeling of putting in a lot of effort to develop your own idea

I am happy with the quality of Richards manifolds, if you have improved and developed the design then fair enough, agree with competition being a good thing, but I will say this, and hopefully a few of you will also agree, the after sales service I have had off Richard (mirrage) is superb!, the bloke happilly bent over backwards to help me out with probs I was having with my build, and that with me goes a very long way.

Valid point. I understand Rich (Mirage) is also able to supply new Garretts or hybrids tailored to the individual customers needs...

give the lad a chance, although by the look of them they are virtually the same as the mirage manifolds, to the eye, i obviously cant compare on quality etc though.

good luck but as most people have been saying you better hope mirage havent got a worldwide patient, if yors is exact that is if its different in anyway you should be fine.

Well I'm all for saving money, but has it been tested as much as the Mirage setup.
I don't want anything that's going to give me trouble.
I'm not trying to rubbish what's being offered.

I don't mind competition, but like its been said these are a virtual clone of mine.

What guarentee do you supply ? lifetime ?

Like a few people have said it's hard to protect design etc, but it still dosen't stop it being looked into in a court.

I spent big money on prototype sets and stuff over time to get this far. Some of which i ended selling on ebay 1/3 of the cost to me. So as far as profits go, i'd say after selling them for 4 years or more i've made my costs back and some profit. But if you looked at it on a £ per hour to then its a total loss.

if it were me i would still make the centre tube longer if posible or have like a chamber in the centre, more of an equal length then but thats me :)

Sorry i think i got a bit steamed up earlier, although not retracting what i said.

At the end of the day we are all just mini enthusiasts, there's not really a business in selling these anyway. I do it mainly because our cars are great fun and i'm an enthusiast. Seriously though i'd be loosing money selling them at £250. And as i said above i've put quite a lot of time and effort into these and you haven't.

How many of you have had my manifolds crack ?? Where and on what section?? Please let me know if you have problems. I'll either repair or get replaced. I would like to know about problems though, so i can sort a solution.
