I know this has come up before so I will be brief.

Just for piece of mind, is this the list of components I need for the conversion?

Metro drive flanges
Metro Discs
Metro 4 pot calipers
Pair of braided hoses
Era caliper bolts.

Where does the second hose tap into in relation to the standard system. does it act as a return or a second feed.

also will you notice an improvement under normal braking or simply when booting round a track?

Hopefully this will put a definative answer to the questions regarding the conversion.

Thanks

Hi,
Buy the conversion hose set, this will join the 2 hose fittings on the caliper.
I don't know if you'll notice it under normal braking, but you should reduce fade under hard braking *wink*
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Hi, make sure you get the correct drive flanges for the discs and calipers you want.. solid or vented.

Mark.

I have always liked 4pots. The only negative is the increase in unsprung weight.

I am still convinced that it is more progressive and gives greater predictability and fade resistance to the std 2pots.

As Bat said ... use the conversion hoses. One hose connects to the upper port, a small link hose bridges the two. Min-Its do a very good kit for a sensible price.

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

ah ,, i see , lightened my discs, i machined out those little connecting bridges in between the 2 sides ,and removed one of the sides ,made it a lot lighter ,funnily enough they looked a bit like the old ones ,still must be better cos they are shiny. *wink*

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

there's 2 different sized bean can's.

one i think doesnt contain enough fluid to operate the brakes correctly, the other is a bit bigger and is fine.

Either size work fine, the taller one is a cooper S type, internally exactly the same, only difference is it holds more fluid, so that if the pads are worn right the way down without the fluid being checked, there is enough capacity so that the master cylinder will not introduce air into the brake hydraulics.

If you use the shorter type with disc brakes (even more so 4 pots) just ensure you check the brake fluid periodically and top up if reqd.
