you will be very lucky if you can find a charade gtti alterator!! they are like rocking horse excrement!!!

I think that Nic fitted a small alternator on his from a less rare Suzuki Swift and it went on quite easily if i remember him correctly (it was last summer!!!).

If it is a lightweight alternator youre looking for, i should be stocking very light 40 amp units shortly and very cheap. If youre interested ill update you with this.
Paul

I seriously doubt it!

it was more space saving than light weight. im sticking to side rad at moment so dont need a charade alternater unless one pops up.

id still post details of your light weight one as it wiill be of interest of people probably.

The alternators are very small, which is why theyre light.
I am on the case for starters at the moment. Hopefully ill be stocking both in January.

Tweekies stock a lightweight starter for the a-series (around £200). they weigh 2.5kgs.

A standard (late type pre-engaged) one weighs 3.5kgs.

Not very sunny swanage

sounds like a bloody expensive way to save 1kg! not having any breakfast before you race would probably have the same effect!!! lol!!!

And on the 7th day........... God created turbochargers!

Hi,
You could try one from the Suzuki SJ jeep range. I got one for a very steep £10 *surprised* off Fleebay....... Looks just like the one in the picture!
Cheers,
Gavin. :)
