id be getting a toyota maybe a 1.3 starlet or corolla on about a L to R reg ish, if its got service history itll be ultra reliable, but the insurance can be expensive. if your unlucky enough for a part to break it could be expensive but second hand bits are easily avaible.
no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

I have a T reg Toyota Starlet SR. Its been fairly reliable only had to replace a cv gaitor and brake pads/oil etc in the 36000 miles i have done in it. Insurance group 5 so fairly cheap too! Bit slow though but for 75 bananas and fairly weighty wot do u expect! |

If you want reliable, cheap and economical try a 90s Polo. Insurance is a fraction of that of a Golf, engines from the same family and VWs are totally bomb proof!!
Every day is a school day ...........

toyota starlet is a top car, very good motors, m mum has one & has only ver needed tyres, ulttra boring but put a decent stereo in it & they're a gr8 daily driver, 1.5 diesel ctreon ax is cheap as chips & a good engine, they dont rot either, boat like body rool tho, great fuel & long distance are comfy, standard stereo is shit SKYLINES ARE LIKE CLITS, EVERY FLANGE SEEMS TO HAVE ONE: see this sticker on my silvia

I've got a 1999 1299 CC fiesta - paid £350 for it, and its awesome. uses no petrol, costs nothing to insure, and seems reliable enough. 47bhp at the wheels too.. ha ha. |

Ive got a 1992 Polo GT, starts every morning but has come to the point of components becoming faulty, its done 82k now (all hard mind you) got full service history and starts first time. Im slowly getting through the faults and parts are cheap and easily come across, cant fault it. |

NOT A 106!!! I have replaced the passengers side drive shaft on my mums on 3 times now... also the rear brakes decided to disintegrate and lock the rear wheel up on a dual carridge way. and generally it feels very... flimsy... Agreed I have had a few of those go twice and I lost 3rd gear as well, horrible cars, avoid at all costs |

the little polo coupes are cool, but more to insure than a festa. 1.3 mk2 golfs can be good fun and are mega cheap.
