Has any one fitted lower mounts from the back of their gearbox to the back of the sub frame? If so where exactly did you conect the mounts? I'm thinking about making some brakets to bolt on to the side plates on the diff housing (like the exhaust mount) and two more brackets that locate onto the subframe mounting holes, if that makes sense.

Yep for the original N/S the sub frame end of the tiebar bolts directly to the subby near the big lightening hole. the bracket bolts up on the studs for the lower fw housing.

Dont mean to hyjack but while we are on the subject of stabilisers, is it possible to use a pair of the above brackets, and the std engine steady, and not use a head steady?

If you could get some pics that would be great, I'm not worried about what angle, I more interested in how / where they bolt on. Isambard Kingdom Brunel said:

Simple leverage. The top mount does most of the work controlling engine rocking, as the main mounts are at the bottom of the engine I ran both lower mounts, and a top mount. It was fairly good, but the front lower broke once or twice. 9.85 @ 145mph

Once I have fitted the top engine steady (to the thermostst housing) I have never used the bottom once again. Mind you the road car doesn't have much torque and the racer has solid engine mounts which help a lot, but not a good idea on the road. http://www.twin-turbo.co.uk

from what i've seen the kad ones both go backwards, in a similar manner to the minispares ones pictured by stevobennet.

if they are ok i think youve hit the nail on the head with running 2 up the top! Just remember you can't run a "standard" second top steady with a twinky. Isambard Kingdom Brunel said:

I'm fitting these two on my pickup this winter, as it's got the pudding stirrer gearbox with no steadying. Minispares ones are great, and quite cheap.
