Would the 296 produce a stable enough MAP reading? I think philc might be the best person to advise but I reckon TPS with that cam. If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |

what is the rest of your setup. Though with that cam you will be better with TPS, others may disagree, but to get full advantage of your MJ you will need TPS. Any rolling road who says different imo is talking PAP. Also do a search you will find this has been addressed loads of times |

The MAP will be ok, just you will not have the full function of the Megajolt which will read 2d and will only use part of the map, if you had TPS this would read 3d and use the full map which will help with advance and retard at the higher and lower rev range. If you can get the TPS which are around £65 then go with that, if not go with map. If you want to change at a later date you will have to put the components in for TPS and take out one of the resistors on the board. |

TPS every time. MAP is a waste of time with a 300deg cam.

buy the tps... It will work much better on part throttle and economy will be better too... And overall a much nicer drive.

There are a few pictures in my build thread and I've got a few more on either photobucket or putfile but the servers at work block all photo hosting websites incase we want to look a nauty pictures. Isambard Kingdom Brunel said:

Here's a few pics, note I initially used an old scarp HIF 38 for mock up only to discover that the HIF 44 & HIF 38 casting have loads of subtle differences.

tps imo, yes it is easy to swap over, their is a function in the software you need to change from map to tps, then you need to extend the map |
