Excellent. What kind of exhaust manifold were you guys using? Mine is just a rewelded LCB. Neat job, but good knows ho long it'll last. I'm using a higher CR, less bost and a smaller engine, but I guess it can be quite driveable still :) On 13th Jul, 2012 Ben H said:

its was the metro turbo manifold upside down , should have seen the looks i got when i suggested that ,but with a bit of bonnet work it turned out fine ,the chap who built it is a perfectionist and did a really good job with the bonnet . Come to think of it. If running a suck through setup, wouldn't EFI be a piece of cake? I'd love a close loop system.. On 13th Jul, 2012 Ben H said:

I could always help you with a simple VEMS install, but I think this car is more fitted for the bin TBH |

Some progress.. Modified 295 head skimmed to 26cc. Should give around 8.9:1 comp. A bit on the low side, but I can always skim more later if necessary.

V, what's your thinking behind sticking what its traditionally thought of as a small bore head (295) on a 1300?

I believe its called plasti gauge. You use it to determin the clearance between bearing and crank. Never used it myself but never done a new metal build either.

It should be used in every build really, it's handy for checking if your BE/main journals are tapered or oval. On 7th Nov, 2008 Nic said:
