The inlet to the turbo fuel regulator is 6.7mm ID if i remember correctly so 8mm ID fuel pipe is pointless

I don't think it's that critical as long as it's greater than 6mm as all the fuel the engine needs has to pass through a hole less than 3mm diameter at the needle valve.
As long as the pump has adequate capacity that is

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

at the minute i use some 8mm ID rubber hose as its cheap until i can "borrow" some lengths of stainless from work and fit them properly to the car!

Basically as long as the return fuel line is greater ID than the supply line to make sure there is no restriction it will be ok.

The return from the fuel regulator outlet is 6.7mm ID so a restrictor of 6.5mm or so should be placed in the supply line just before the inlet to the regulator.

You can use 8mm ID or 8mm OD fuel pipe it wont make any difference as the restriction is at the fuel regulator

If im wrong then please someone correct me *smiley*

Not sure I agree.

Im using a 1/2" feed on my V8, and a 3/8 return with no problems.
Although in general, I see no reason why not to have both the same size. It just suited me from a packaging point of view.

On my Mini, I used 8mm rubber hose for both feed and return, although I think the actual return fitted to the tank was only 1/4"

I would safely say that an 8mm OD hardline tube for a feed, and a decent efi style pump, will be more than adequate for ANY Mini engine.

Hi,
Some people have had problems with the return being too restrictive causing as back pressure in the return.
This upsets the regulator which causes over fuelling if IIRC.....
I think this is the reason most go for 8mm feed and return.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

Basically as long as you can get the pressure to the carb low enough then it shows that the return is free flowing enough.

I spose as long as the feed and return are the same size and theres no restriction there shouldnt be a problem as the amount of fuel being returned from the regulator will always be less than the supply

Can't see what the problem is.
Keep inlet and return the same diameter as there is always less flowing in the return (inlet flow minus carb requirement)
