metro turbo in my mini 1.3i 1996

do i need to cut a box in my bulk head for a metro turbo engine to fit my mini. It is a 1.3i 1996 mini equinox and i have seen the pre fab ones on ebay which i think is for the older mini's. I have two mini's on is a 1988 mini jet black 1000cc and the bulkhead is totaly diffrent. Can anyone please help any info would be greatfull many thanks dean.

Yes you will, if you are using a standard metro turbo.

Use the search button and read as much as you can. All the answers are there.

you can get round it with custom manifolds, either over the clutch or a mirage (or mirage style) manifold and a T2 (smaller) turbo to get it all in the bulkhead.

I'll think you'll find that the piece of the bulkhead that needs to be chopped is the same on all the shells.

Above the box section the bulkhead is different in that the later one don't have a great big hole in the middle.
This won't affect the turbo box as it fits in the cross member and below.
Tom has an MPi shell with the box fitted, no problem as far as I know.
