As per the title, i'm after a machined trigger wheel & sensor bracket for my turbo project so i can run with megajolt. I have tried Tom Fenton but he is no longer producing them. Can anyone supply me with one or point me in the right direction to get one?

Thanks in advance.

Steve

Hi, i got mine from Specialist Components great bit of kit - and John Kimmins uses this site so any questions you have he should be able to answer.

Only thing i will say is that it is designed to use the Magneti Marelli sensor as used on a Cosworth for example. But there are ways around using the old fiesta one by spacing it off etc.

they can be found on

www.specialist-components.co.uk

hope that helps.

Mark.

Hi,
The Magneti Marelli sensor should work on the MJ, as my Omex Ecu will happily use either.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

i also need these 2, am i wrong to think that 100 pounds for specialist components ones is a bit steep or is it just because we have been spoilt with tom fentons generosity?

i'm also in the same postition, i need a pulley quite badly,

is mr fenton (sounds like a member of the resovour dogs *surprised*P) still doing them or is his setup on hold!

i dont want to be spending £100 on a pulley wheel but the specialist components stuff is nice kit!

i have to try to get a damper pulley this week, if i cant get a damper pully i'll get a trigger wheel from triggerwheels.com, not what i want really but as a worst case!

The Specialist Components kit is currently out of stock, they should be in from the suppliers in around 3 weeks time.

morespeed are waiting for the tool to so they can do the cutting i have been waiting for a month now and they don't know when they will be getting it in.
Specialist comp are out of stock
KAD have them in stock at £151

If anyone wants a pulley wheel made, i may, emphasis may have found someone who is doing a batch in the middle of june. let me know send me a pm if you need a pulley so i can pass onto him the numbers. with regard to sensor brackets i am still trying to find someone who can make them up otherwise you would have to make your own.

Its a shame Tom stopped with the brackets and pulleys, I suspect he did them at cost, and personally i think he should have taken a little something for the trouble of sorting us out.

anyway, i digress....

I'll be up for putting a pully toward a batch, and having a bracket too if it happens.

I don't really need them, but it would be useful to have them for the future.

I can verify that Carl's machine work on pulleys is top spec. Same as Mr Fenton's and it's been OK'd by him so Carl's the man to go to. Got mine put on recently and all is well.

I really need a VR bracket though, tried making my own and it is OK but to be honest if I was ever contemplating a career is metal fab I'm not now! Really regret not getting one of Mr Fentons when they were on offer.

I suspect looking at the bracket that Tom produced that it was more like made at a loss not cost!!!!

The SC kit comes at a price but then it is a solid and more or less universal bit of kit and the quality should be excellent.

Philc is refering to me when he says that he has found somebody to help sort him out and Clubmanflip' has also approached me.

Bat had my own pulley (destined for Candice's engine) off me last week so I have to do some soon!!!

I also did British Open Classic's pulley for him so we have at least one person with a running engine on one.

I am happy to do the pulleys but please be advised that it may take me a week or two to get around to doing them as I am super-super busy at the moment.

I don't want to step on anybodies toes on this one so if people feel I am then I will back off.
I'm not planning on getting rich overnight on this one, strictly doing it for people off TM as a favour to get as many turbo A-series out there as possible to drive the V-tech / red-top boys back into the darkness .... LOL ... only joking ... considering an X16-XE conversion myself at some point.

To be honest, and I always try to be, it is going to be 2 weeks min before I can do any as I am working away a lot over the next couple of weeks.

Price wise I am looking at £30 per pulley if you can wait for me to have everything clocked up and ready to go so I can do a few off in one hit .... making sure the everything is cock on is what takes the time.

If you require it posted I recon about £5 but as I have not posted one yet I am not 100% sure.

I also have a design that could be used with an MPi / supercharger drive type pulley, a keyed wheel to avoid any scatter (probably not a problem with MegaJolt but when we go to MegaSquirt running sequential through a tight window it might be a factor) and some thoughts on brackets but those are just drawings at the moment.

As I said I don't wan't to upset anybody here so if anybody thinks I am over stepping the mark let me know and I'll pull this post...

it looks like their is a need for these pulleys and brackets but thier is a lack of people who can do them and do them well. I would not have thought you would be stepping on anyones toes. afterall we all have the same goal to put more mini's back on the road!

I wouldn't think it would be stepping on anyones toes as there is demand for a product and little support for it. There is no great rush for one myself as the engine is still sat outside of the car lol.

However, as soon as you have the wheels in motion i will be there to take advantage of the offer.

OK guys ..... but please remember that there may be a couple of weeks lead time on these depending on how busy I am .... failure to plan is planning for a failure and all that jazz.

I'd not have thought so ... If I order a cutter tomorrow morning I'd expect it in my hand no later than wednesday afternoon .... sometimes even the same day as ordering!

I may know of someone that could do some brackets.....I could get them made the same as Tom's, not sure on cost though!

As Roger says, only with Tom's permission etc...wouldn't want to steal business of other people...
