Hi Carl,
1) click on search
2) type "electric water pump" in search body
3) put a tick in "search post body"
4) sit back and read all the hits
5) Let me know what conclusions you draw as it all seems a bit inconclusive to me. All the posts seem to finish without anything definite.
Regards
Dave

1 of the pro's of electric water pump is that you can leave it running with a little help from a turbo timer after you turn off the engine. Another plus is that a electric pump always performs in the same manner. There is no to fast or to slow in combination with revolutions of the engine.

Against is the price of electric pump. I've seen pump that cost way beyond what my wallet would allow for such a small item *happy*

how reliable are they though?

it sounds ideal for the water cooler turbos after its turned off, you could have it set to keep pumping for 1 min or so just to make sure its all cool! thats what im going to do anyway but keep the normal pump (high capicity one)

Ive run one for a couple of years and find it great. Its a Bosch canister type pump similar to the KAD item. They are used believe it or not in coffee vending machines.

I seriously doubt it!

you may have to type it in as 0 392 020 061 to get any hits. I think the pipe ends look a bit small to flow enough easily? I have just bought a meziere pump, it weights a bit and is a bit bigger than these pumps ( I have one like that here too), but it flow around 80 litres a minute and is made specifically for the purpose (does not only give flow, but is also able to build some pressure), and has the pipe end size you wish. Cost me around 100 quid. I would uesstimate that the pump pictured flow around 20 litres a minute without any head.

This looks identical to Pauls.
The Merc logo is a giveaway to the origin.

Here is the main listing:

I wouldn't use anything under 1200dm3 /hr personally.

We use these pumps at work on the Twin Supercharged Vantage. There are 2 as standard to run the charge coolers. We fit a 3rd to gain another 50 hp making 600 and nearly 600 lbft.

cool. On the Mercedeses they are used for pumping water to the AC/heater usually.
