Hi there, as it says, will it be fairly easy? Can't get the metro turbo carb here in South Africa.

there are a few posts on converting the carbs and also a good post by turbodave on making yourself a plenum.

Somewhere on this site there is a very good guide to converting a standard HIFF44 for turbo use but I'm having trouble finding it. In the mean time have a read of these threads:

Bit of post excavation here, but dose anyone know what the title of the thread with the guide to converting a std HIF to TURBO HIF is. I have been searching for the guts of a half hour and all I can find, is this thread the one turbo Dave posted a pic in but that pic don’t work anymore,

i converted one and it works fine. also made a custom plenum. no restrictor works fine na engine + turbo + boost = ya hewwww |

yes you can learn a lot from psimini, he found how to make a strong running turbo mini, n/a hif44 carbed without restrictor, and read each of his post to understand how he did it, and how it does working, inded very well:

Or maybe I dont grasp the concept of "works fine" The carburettor can be made to work without the restrictor, but it causes a LOT of grief. 9.85 @ 145mph

beleive me im not mocking anyone. i used forum advice and now my minis going great. thanks alot. and yes all i have done to my metro na is turbo needle, standard jet, pressurised float bowl and a coloured dashpot. thats all i done and it works..... na engine + turbo + boost = ya hewwww |
