Hi,
Well you won't have any problem getting the air through it :)
I can't see a problem with it, as long as your ok with it then fit the bugger!

i have this & an seried 2 rs turbo type, not sure what i'll use but i got this for £20 & its all alloy & an OE intercooler not a cheapo copy so i'm presuming it should be ok in the respect of how it flows, i'll have to make mounts whichever cooler i fit so...............hmmm the thing is you cant make this one subtle really

to me it says one of two things

1 i've got a huge turbo under the bonnet so don't mess with me

2 look at my mini!

one thing is for sure, you'll get plenty of cold air!

I am not really a fan of intercoolers hanging out the front, but this intercooler is so massive I like it

I suppose it depends whether you are after looks of performance.

it'll polish up a treat feebs which i'll do i think!

i do agree with the majority to be honest its a bit OTT for my liking, i'm a fan of the oldschool understated/standard-ish looks with a quick motor, for those that know who mick rogers & mick wilkes at the drag strips you'll have an idea of my car tastes *happy*

to be honsest with you all i did think it was alot smaller lol *happy* i thought it was 2wd/4wd cozzy size!!! frickin suprised when i picked it up but........if it offered a lil extra performance over a smaller one then i could make it to fit for trackdays/drags/sprints, swappable between the rs turbo one i have, i reckon it was good for the money really

i cant stop laughing at the pic of my mini at the top, it nearly looks as bad as that mini with the funny "nose" bonnet

if i fitted it i would be a bit worried about ppl kicking it & poking about!

theres no real way i can make it look stealthy its so blummin big!

Hi,
Go with the RST one, they're pretty good for the size unless you're running massive boost.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

I actually quite like it,

IMO it looks a bit old school racer, I guess because its not mega shiny...

Kinda reminds me of the front bit on the racing arbarth fiat 500's.

for the road its probably a bit ott looks wise, might bring unwanted attention, I'd put provisison in to fit it, maybe have the S2 one for the road and swap that one on for the track?

I REALLY wanted to get an intercooler into the same position but behind the grille on my mk1 as with the 7 port there isn't really anywhere else to put it. The starter motor and dizzy are the main probs when doing this, I "relived" the transfer housing to gain an extra 10mm and as i'll be going injection i can loose the dizzy.

Heres the thread if you havent seen it.

I wonder if it would radiate more heat if it was painted black?

Bugger off, I'm getting there.

Working up the BHP ladder.

Looks a bit too chunky hanging off the front for me. Would be pukka if you could mould a small front fairing up for it so it blends in slightly more. Maybe sticking out an inch or so.
On 2nd look that is a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGEEE I/C so maybe not as easy as it sounds.
*wink*

Will it not mount under the line of the bumper? That way it wouldn't be so noticeable.

Exactly what I was gonna say, see if you can inset it under the bumper like an oil cooler :)

There is no sense crying over every mistake- you just keep on trying til you run out of cake.

theres loads of space behind the bonnet/above the slam panel. but you will need holes in the bonnet.

or under the wing and feed it via ducts from the grill + use an electric fan to assist air flow
