OK so am in the middle of building me turbo mini and i have started to have horrible nightmares of some tosser pulling out on me and slamming into the side of him a lot faster than I would have been traveling in my 998cc.
Turbo power here I come! |

I'm not sure but I think some insurance companies get a little upset with roll cages. Maybe check that first. My current insurance company doesn't so I have a 60's style 3 point (ala Italian Job). Useless in a roll over but I like it. On 7th Nov, 2008 Nic said:

Too many arguments for cage or non cage. For road use, I think I would go for comfort of an everyday car without cage. If I was 15 years younger...I would say F*** it....and throw one in! On 19th Jan, 2010 wil_h said:

Nic and CMflip have raised a good point. I know in OZ it's illegal to have a cage if it's not padded up like crazy. A cage might help prevent the shell deforming in an impact but I wouldn't want to be deformed against the cage! Kinda glad mines just a glorified coat hanger now. On 7th Nov, 2008 Nic said:

Ill fit a full cage as my car is fibreglass, and I dont think I will stand much chance in an accident without. Without would be like driving turbo charged tuppaware!

Hi, I think Rob H has recently purchased a safty devices weld in cage? Cheers, Gavin :) Close, I've gone for the roll centre one, meets all the FIA requirements for anny international event (totally over kill for what I want) and costs about a third of the safety devices item. On you poll you need another box for the likes of Iain & Jim (and eventually myself) who have full on climbing frames. http://www.rollcentre.co.uk/rollcentre/htm...anufacture.html Edited by Rob H on 4th Aug, 2007.
