identify my engine

hello every one, i have a little problem that i need your help. i have bought a mg metro turbo, i think... th nunber that is in the engine is BHM1668E 14715 but i have look in google, and some websites for informations related whit this engine and i cant' find anything.

Please can any one help me. :(??

I think the BHM means its a factory overhauled engine.

Mine has those letters prefixing the rest of the number. Has it been painted gold?

i dont nknow .. but i think it is like a gold color..
but what dies it mena being a "overhauled" engine? is it bad?
what is the engine cv'S? or the cc?

Well mine has been rebored to 1293 and fitted with the correct 20831 turbo pistons. so at a guess I think it has been fully rebuilt. I have only pulled the head off it to check what the bores were like.

I don't know what processes they go through at the factory when being rebuilt, I guess they just rebuild the whole power unit to the spec of a new engine. The turbo also has a tag on it saying 'factory overhauled turbocharger'.

Someone please correct me if i'm talking crap, because I'm only going on my experiance.

The gold seal engines were a fully rebuilt engine, the silver seal was just a short engine.
