this turned out to be a great weekend ,

got there friday evening ,me in the mini and the girls on backup in the stealth van ,had to learn how to get the tent up which caused great hilarity ,but in the end all snug .

saturday was blue and clear at first then turned a touch manky in the lunch time ,still got in 4 runs ..
first run was a 2.467 60ft 14.6@95.11,got the det light so backed off in 3rd
then some more 2.548 60ft 14.96@95.21(missed gear )
2.704 60ft 15.83@94.41(left line in 2nd!!lol)
2.375 60ft 14.32@96.06( first good run)

and that was it for saturdays racing, did a spot of mapping in matts car ,it responed well ,rain kicked in,so a spot of lainging took place ,and running around in the rain looking at other cars .
hilarious convos took place after dark and had a great time .really good to chat to mike and phil wil and ben and all the usual suspects .

sunday arrived and it was clear blue sky from back to front and side to side ...damn right !
out for a bit of morning thrashtasticness...3/4 turns richer on carb ...

first run 2.438 60ft 14.35@96.45
2.408 60ft 14.44@96.99(backed off at 300ft)

decided at this point that around 14.3 was my best on 9.5(was actually crossing line around 8.5 psi )
time for some more boost / risk ....

first run 2.473 60ft 14.1@101.99 (turned to 15psi at mid track)

at this point had total brain fade ,and turned boost knob anti clockwize and then lost the place for it !! ooops

stopped for lunch ,and met paul and lads ,had good chat with them, and then trolled back to go racing again ,

next run was my best race of the meeting

in the other lane was denis (got the name right ) in the blue k engine mini ,
we both went for it on the light and it was denis ahead by a half car ish ,
highly adrenalised( eg giggling like a girl) , i managed to forget my boost level until he started to go
away from me ....

i looked down and saw to my horror ...7psi !!!!! BASTARDO!!!..

i started winding on boost ,and after a turn it climbed and i started to catch up a bit ,

oops 18 psi back down to 12 up to 15 ,

interestingly it was going blimmen well on the higher boost but i didnt really feel it was safe on 15 yet alone 18 ,not been mapped nor nuffin ,the only reason it lived was i had the timing down to 18 odd on 15psi i think ,

so then hammered along a couple of car length back i reckon and came out the top end llike that ,bloody BRILLIANT FUN !
denis had a bloody big grin and i did too .
ran 2.416 60ft 13.947@103.79.
very nice to have nic and tony etc to say well done to me for the 13s ,really encouraging and nice cameraderie ..

so that was about it , watched some other racing , oh heard tom hooting with glee in his car after the 12.3 , i thought at first he had got his genitals caught on the gear lever ,then realized he was jubilating .

so tent down and off ,used 15 quid of v power to do the whole trip 75 miles and all racing so happy with that ,the girls had a great time and all i hear ,is ''when is mini in the park we want to go!"

regards robert

Congratulations on the 13s run. We were whooping in the stands, got some strange looks.

The pioneering is paying off.

Are you still running helical drops Robert?

no idea, normal all steel mini part from the front end. on the sunday i took my passenger, rear seat and sub-box out the boot. power to weight compared to a DC2 integra with the old engine i was pretty confident it was around the 750kg mark with sub/seats so your guess is as good as mine.

I doubt you will get any slippage - you're up at what, 1600lb min clamping force? You'll need at least 200lb ft - or more with a fresh plate... Mmmmmmmm. Target for next year maybe? - to get clutch slip LOL.

none atall. single spring got me to 170ft'lb before slippage. and with the twin spring she has been up to 220ft/lb on the same rollers without slippage. i have turned the boost up higher than the 220ft'lb run and ohnestly, its never slipped yet. i did have issues with the bent over spring retaining tab's breaking, but replaced these with bolts and washers as-per your clutch and shes been fine! every time i have the engien out i inspect the clutch and all is well :)

cheers!
