So I bought this nice 2" stainless system and it looks really well made and over the weekend did some trial fits so I can make up my own 2" stainless downpipe from the turbo elbow (Metro T3) (as the only ones I can find to buy are mild steel) using a 1 3/4" Metro downpipe as a guide.

Why not ring maniflow? Because they only advertised mild steel (as do Avonbar) so I'm half way through making my own stainless one. The real issue is my one is 2" OD. The issue is this 2" link pipe isn't flared to go over a 2" downpipe and that's what I don't understand at the moment ![]() ![]()

I'm making mine a real 2", so my question is back to basics, are common 2" LCBs and downpipes not really 2" ??? The supplier says their UN-flared 2" pipe should fit a 2" LCB Y piece..... these things can vary manufacturer to manufacturer in my experience.

Yes, I assumed most 2" LCBs would actually be 2" OD so expected the link pipe to be swaged out to fit over a 2" OD pipe (whether LCB Y piece or turbo downpipe) but this one isn't so I'll have to resort to an external joint sleeve or a home made "swageing tool" utilising a BFH.

I *think* my cheap no name LCB was 1-7/8" OD, I remember buying a 2" clamp to go over the swaged end of the link pipe which would make sense. On 7th Nov, 2008 Nic said:

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be... So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'... On 26th Oct, 2004 Tom Fenton said:

Yes Sprocket and Bat, I can get around this easily with a bit of oversize tube (or even a bit of rolled stainless plate) and my TIG set, or some sort of clamped adaptor but..... why the hell should I have to ???
