First mini turbo to get in the 12's & site perv

Herefordshire

Im toying with the possibilty of moving my gear stick inside the car, although i dont want that huge carbunkle of a std shifter inside the car

Does anyone know if the KAD kit uses a different mechanism?

The picture suggests yes, but the description confuses me

1011375 Gear linkage kit
Allows gear change housing to be mounted inside the car. All of the parts for the conversion (except the standard gear change housing) are supplied. Gearchange rod runs through top of tunnel connected by universal joints

same as above, a couple of universal joints, a bracket to hold it all and bob's your uncle.

A left and right threaded turnbuckle in the shaft helps for adjustment without having to un-do anything and trust me it is needed.

Apparently the trick is to connect up in first.

I bought a racetech one and you can see the quality difference between that and the likes of the ones you get in a socket set.

I know NGL uses the RS ones in his Mini or did when I spoke to him a couple of years back. Also I know a few people here use "drive couplings"

something like that i reckon. they're £36 each mind.

socket uj's wont cut the mustard, i've heard of several people trying. if it was that easy everyone would use them!

does the KAD kit keep the top steady bar inplace to stop it poping out of gear? doesnt look like it..

when people on here have done it have they kept the steady bar and rubber mounted the lever or just solid mounted them? and i guess if you solid mount that and it doesnt pop out of gear you have solid mounted the engine too?

ahhhhhhh my brain is thinking too hard!
