We have been working on a trigger wheel and sensor bracket to be used with megajolt.
The kit is a simple bolt on item.

I am also working on - A fully CNC machines replacement bottom pulley, including the trigger wheel and fan belt pulley in one item.

You will need to re-work that sensor bracket it is not enough to only bolt the sensor by that ear it needs to be fitted in some sort of tube or holder.
other wise nice simple design well done and a nice price to boot.

So I'm finally not the only one to put the trigger wheel behind the pulley...

Maybe I've just been copied.....

Except my VR sensor is properly supported in a tube :)

i think you'll struggle to shift any of those on this site,

there is already ba resident supplier, that cannot keep up with demand,

also you really need to put a price on the setup as per forum rules before someone deletes it,

Why would I struggle to shift any. These trigger wheels are not made hand so any demand would be ok. I can make the kits in a batch of 50 in the machine. As for price Kit 1 is £80 plus p&p, and Kit 2 is £100.

There is no movement in the sensor bracket. But if you guys would happier with the sensor in a tube I can see wot I could do.

Hi,
You'll find that when the engine is running the magnetic action between the sensor and the teeth will cause if to vibrate, eventually fracturing the sensor mounting lug. Then the sensor falls off.
Cheers,
Gavin :)

He'd struggle to shift any because the resident supplier cannot keep up with demand?

Now that's a contradiction. *happy*

I'd have one! If it means getting it now I would because Tom's havn't surfaced for a while and theres a big list of people who need them.

I'm sure you'd have no problems shifting them, nice to see someone else taking the time to make the specific bits so well done.

Now I've looked closely at the pictures on the website, I have to admit it achieves one thing that I tried to do myself but failed, in that the wheel attaches to the inner part of the damper, not the outer.

I think if the probe holder was done "properly" (ie, in a rigid tube) it would sell easily.

I do prefer them behind the pulley.

how do i order?, imo the bracket does need to be changed. however it is the only kit i have see that puts the trigger wheel where i want it and does not involve me sending my pulley away (its bolted to my daily drive) that sells it for me *wink*

i do only have one question, is the actual trigger wheel from the kit one a tight fit on the pully? the only snag i can see it getting it bolted on in the centre for balance reasonse

Yes i moved to the darkside *happy*

ahh did not realise MED was making them now, but for there is the price of a cooper 'S' damper ring aswell from minispares £60
so £210 for a 36-1 damper and sensor *oh well* *frown*

i would rather sit under the bonnet holding the crank sensor than fork out that much*happy*

I would like to thank everybody for there comments on the trigger wheel and bracket.

I have today been into the workshop and spoken to the engineer about the design of the sensor bracket. We are now going to alter the design of the sensor, as your request to incorporate a holder for the sensor to pass through.

If 10 people put their names down for a Kit 1, (with no commitment, until you are happy with the design of the new bracket.) I can then put the kit into production. We will be producing a higher number then 10 kits (more like 20 to 50 in the first batch). The trigger wheel and sensor bracket will then become a stock item.

As an introduction offer for the first 10 people on TM, I will include a discount so The price for kit 1 will be £70.

The Kit will include the following: - A fully CNC machines bolt on trigger wheel and bolts (you will need asome locktite when securing)
- A sensor bracket that bolts onto the timing cover. This will accept the standard long Ford sensor. The sensor bracket is capable of adjustment so you can fine tune the fitment.

- A new bottom pulley lock washer.

Again thanks for your comments.

I really struggled to get the long sensor when I did mine, and I ended up buying a new one from Ford. Why not make it possible to accommodate different lengths of probes?

i will put my name down for a so called 'kit one' and will gladly accept the £10 discount *happy*

info on the part number or make/model/year of car to ask for when purchasing the sensor would be handy if you know cheers,
