As the title says really, does anybody know the legalities of having a demisting system, could i get away with a small fan or does it have to be a fully heated system?

thanks

Hmmm interesting, i'd have thought that a system was required.

However i'm not complaining, one less thing to buy and fit!

Thanks

Great.

No chance of fitting one in our Miglia.

I looked into this regarding the miglia and as far as i'm aware you don't need one for a MOT but you do for a SVA so if your car has a logbook you should be fine :)

Yeah i have a logbook, so thats alright then.

I might still look into fitting one, just because it could prove useful.

I dont want to use the standard Mini one as its too big and difficult to hide away, i've been looking around some of the kit car stuff and that looks ok, just can be quite pricey for what i'm after.

Thanks for the help.

If the car is used for circuit racing it must a form of screen de-mist... how effective it is the grey area, just as long as it has something.

I have a very nice fan from a yamaha R1 under the dash blowing air through ducting.

Chamois sponge!!

No Mini should be without one *happy*

I have seen Rally drivers with a squeegie/ sponge on the end of a long stick so they could reach the screen wile strapped to their seat *hehe!*

There is a micro wire heated screen available for the mini, similar to the Ford variants. I like the idea but not the price*happy*

That reminds me .. I need to sort something out on that as well..

So, does a fan to the ducts do the job OK then? I dont have any fresh air inlets any more.. no room!

Hmmm, there might be some sort of heated screen in the miglia. Down one of the sides is a thin metal bar with a blade terminal on one end.
Unfortunately this would be coming out anyway as we need to put a glass front screen in.

I never had a problem with an MOT and no heater system, but as said it's needed for SVA.

A long stick with a sponge on was my solution.

I was going to invest in a heated screen for mine. My dads got one in his anglia and it works well.
