I have an old HIF i'm going to use for my 998 turbo build. But i'm not sure what the bit circled in red is? It's not on any of my other SU's.

Anyone shed some light? can i still use it for a turbo?

Also, does anyone have a picture of the "grove" needed to seal the dashpot for a turbo carb conversion?

n.b. all going well there will be a picture attached showing the SU

could it be from a montego/maestro and be where the electronic choke fits?

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

Perhaps, It does look like there are three screw holes. I got it with a bucket load of spares someone was getting rid of.

There is a manual choke on the other side though?
