hi, my brother has just fitted an mpi dash into his car and wants to get the original dials working.

he has fitted the mini loom to the rear of the clocks, lights etc work. also plugged the time cloch in and this works

does anyone have insructions how to wire up the volts and oil temp gauges?

does the oil clock need some sort of sender, and does anything have to be drilled/tapped on a pre injection block/gearbox to make this fit?

also the revs are over reading on the mpi rev/speedo cluster. is there an adjustment screw inside the rev counter?

many thanks

the volts wants to go one wire to the +ve battery and one too earth if the needle flicks the wrong way switch the wires round

the oil temp well need a sensor you can drill tap the box, some have done the speedo output part as it can be easily removed, or you can get a sandwich plate that goes on before the oil filter and the sender sits in there i think my dads was 13quid or so for his scooby

i think the rev counter error is because the mpi uses coil packs with i think 2 coils? so the dial will be out by 50%? dont know if this can be adjusted easily

id attach the volts after the ignition live, otherwise it will show the voltage permanently and it will drain the battery down when your not using the car

as above for everything else, hes right about the mpi clocks going mental, easiest way is to find an old cooper cluster and just stick a set of magnolia dials in them
