It will work, but an educated guess tells me that it may as well be N/A until you hit over 5000rpm.
If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |

Unless your hillclimbing or sprinting it, don't bother with a T3. |

I believe the best qualified people to comment with be wil & ben. I'm not certain but I think they used a T3 on their hillclimber. If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |

We did use a T3 on the hillclimber and I would not advise it on a road car. The power came in with such a bang and at such high revs that it was not great.

Here is a RR comparison of the T3, T2 and GT1752 on the twins hillclimber

It actually looks on that graph that the T3 and GT17 are comparable in boost threshold, but the T3 was a lot worse to drive.

Hmm we were considering putting the gt17 on the efi 998 to replace the t2.

Also the T2 on that graph was improved massively by modofing the exhaust elbow and manifold. and it says in the linked thread you changed the adapter plate. Could you explain what the mods were that gave you better output? Cheers |

I had blended the adapter plate to the shape of the Metro manifold, but this leaves it very narrow on the two outside bores.

We are going to fit a GT1752 on the 998 at the next build. Better head and piston buttons so that we can run higher revs get more power, but keep the torque at 105 curleys so that we don't destroy the helical box or verto clutch. It will make aninteresting comparison. Saul Bellow - "A great deal of intelligence can be invested in ignorance when the need for illusion is deep."

i think i ran around 115 to 125 lb/ft for ages with no probs paul. Medusa + injection = too much torque for the dyno ..https://youtu.be/qg5o0_tJxYM |

i think i ran around 115 to 125 lb/ft for ages with no probs paul. True, I would need to uprate the clutch though. I think that I may have to find a hybrid or try a GT1548. Looking at the RR graphs for the TT2, it comes on full boost at 4500rpm, whereas we are currently seeing full boost by 4000rpm with the T2. Even if I push the rev limit to 7000rpm, I will only get another 500 useable rpm on full boost. I could do with the GT1752 compressor on a T2 turbine. I have a feeling that if you stuck the T2 turbine on the 17 comp then you'd run into surge. Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph
